Is the "Surge" really working?
Articles titled "Military Success, Political Failure" are seemingly everywhere. But other than military and Bushco rhetoric, what real proof do we have that the "Surge" is working?
The article starts out: "The good news from Iraq is that the surge led by Gen. David Petraeus seems to be working."
Well, that's of course the official line from Washington and the military. And why should we believe a single word they say? Let's look at their track record:
Weapons of Mass Destruction
Yellow Cake
"The insurgency is in its last throes". --Big Dick Cheney
Pat Tillman
Alberto "I don't remember" Gonzales
The Iraq/Al Quaeda connection
etc.
etc.
etc.
So let's look at the real numbers to see if the surge is working. Yep, US military deaths are down one from March.....full success. Send them more money DemocRATS. The surge is working.
