Iran role suspected in brazen Iraq attack
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.GALATIANS 6:7
"From being quite sure of himself and his future he becomes not at all sure. If he be an imaginative boy a door is to open and for the first time he looks out upon the world, seeing, as though they marched in procession before him, the countless figures of men who before his time have come out of nothingness into the world, lived their lives and again disappeared into nothingness. The sadness of sophistication has come to the boy." (Sherwood Anderson, Winesburg, Ohio: Sophistication)

Well, Iran does provide assistance to various groups in Iraq as a way of expanding their influence. Which makes it quite probable that there is a quasi-war with Iran already going on, and this is an example of it.
What's concerning though, is how this is reported as possible "Iranians" - which could just mean Iranian-born people OR agents working for the Iranian government. The article isn't clear. It seems like that distinction should be made strongly now, since it's getting pretty easy to paint every Iranian with a broad brush. And the administration seems eager to take anything that could be interpreted as a statement of war on the part of the Iranians and blow it out of proportion.
True indeed. Iran may provide some assistance within Iraq. However, no more so than what they were previously providing. If the "Bush League" administration is going to use this as a casus bellum, they had better bring to light absolute, verifiable evidence that Iran is proliferating aggression on a scale that is a direct threat to U.S. national security. However, I think the greatest threat to U.S. national security is not Iran, North Korea, China, or Cuba, but the Bush administration itself. Talk about a cancerous regime.
